A 10-week series exploring the sacred love and connection between mother and child. Each two-hour session uses a trauma-informed lens through which parents can view and better support their baby as they grow and learn. Participants discuss concepts such as understanding a child’s point of view, what attachment is, child temperament, parenting style, mental wellness, and self-care tips focused on the socio-cultural experience of Black families. Polish your Crown, Sis! groups promote Black women's well-being through lively discussion and learning about topics of interest to participants including health and mental wellness, Black culture, current events, sisterhood, parenting and family life. Two live girl-talk sessions every Tuesday and Thursday.
BElovedBIRTH Black Centering is group prenatal and postpartum care ByFor&With Black people. Participants can enroll between 12-20 weeks of pregnancy. EmbraceBIRTH is an eight-part weekly childbirth class series based on the specific cultural and social context faced by African American women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. With its flexible format, the series can be extended to ten weeks with two bonus sessions on the 'fourth trimester' and Black motherhood celebration.
